DIY Challenge; Egyptian Ear to Ear Adornment

DIY AUTHOR Emily Perillo

Bringing favorite fashion icons to meet your DIY skills can result in a more personalized item. Back in ancient Egypt, Cleopatra got to prance around in loud, gold jewelry. Here’s your chance to unleash your inner Egyptian royalty. These 6 easy steps will lead to ultimate Dynasty status!

Step One: Measure two strips of wire at 9″. Cut with wire trimmers.

Step 2: Smooth the edges with a small needle file on both ends.

Step 3: Round nose pliers are required for this step. Coil the both wire strips to make a tub-like base. Make sure the diameter of the inner circle can securely hold both chains you have selected. Suggested coils 6-8.

Step 4: The final coiled wire should look like this. Now with a flat nose plier round the wire into an ear shape. Test on your ears for comfort and fit.

Step 5: After the ear shape has been completed round the extra wire inward. Place on ear for a comfort and fit check once again.

Step 6:  Cut chain into desired length. Our thicker chain was 12″ and the thinner was 10″. Put a couple drops of glue into the coil and carefully place the chains inside on both sides. Let dry.

Et Voila! The perfect ear to ear adornment.
