And the Winners Are…
The judges were all over the place, they couldn’t agree on all of our Honors. It was really hard to choose, but there was a clear winner for the Most Original, and the voters chose not one favorite but two in a tie between our Challengers for the Favorite Style Award. Check out the winners!
Style Council’s Award for MOST ORIGINAL
Summer Rayne Oakes the Eco Fashion Model

Summer Rayne Oakes takes a bow
Eleanor: A real class-act. Not everyone can pull off hats like that. I like how she’s embracing black without looking like she’s heading for a funeral. And I want those shoes.
Lisa: I’m way into the way Summer used the dress as a duster- the proportions of the LBD over that diamond printed dress are perfect. Most Original!
Sophie: Most Original, eclectic, Victorian modern, fun, and weird in a good way.
Delanee: Most Original. She looked so natural how she just incorporated one other garment with the dress, a couple accessories and she was done! She’s so fast, it’s like she gets dressed and gets out of the house. That’s so practical and yet so classic.
Chris: Most Period. I think the use of the dress as a vest is really lovely, especially layered over a billowy dress. The black and white print looks terrific tempered with the solid black overtop and looks like it could have stepped out of the pages of a 1940’s fashion magazine.
Tie for the People’s Choice Award for
“FAVORITE STYLE”

Yuka Yoneda of Ecouterre & Felicia Walker Benson of ThisThatBeauty
Yuka Yoneda of Ecouterre
Eleanor: I don’t know what she’s holding, but it’s hot. I love the contrast of the Sci-fi glasses with the pretty, frilly white lace. The collar and sleeves look beautiful, and I love it just peeking out at the bottom. She’s not just covering one dress with another, she’s really making them work together.
Lisa: Yowza! How awesome is a petticoat? I haven’t seen that in a while- it feels really new the way she styled it with glasses. Its simple, but feels like something I haven’t seen before.
Sophie: Outrageous, fantastical, fabulous, Sci-fi fantastic. She looks like a futuristic French maid. I love this vibe. Very new.
Delanee: I like how she goes from black and white to a very colorful version. Both styles look great.
Chris: Most Fantastical. Calling Lady Gaga, the references are clear here, Yuko is giving us the cool-girl-in-Tokyo version of the LBD. I quite like the humor, and how by adding the ruffled vintage piece underneath it becomes a completely different dress. The accessories are crazy, but somehow it’s working!

Felicia Walker Benson of ThisThatBeauty
Eleanor: Most Current Use of Vintage. Totally effortless. She’s not playing dress up. I think she looks the most natural. I believe she really owns this dress, and the look.
Lisa: The second look is my favorite- totally unexpected, but really wearable in real life. I would totally wear that. Most sophisticated!
Sophie: Most modern, most chic! I love her use of layering and print to go with the dress. The silhouette is really interesting and the hat is fun and elegant. I love this look.
Delanee: Most Chic. She’s CLASSIC, to me she was really so chic.
Chris: Most Playful. These looks are playful, youthful, and look comfortable, which is a huge triumph in styling.
MOST FUN!
Johanna Bjork of Goodlifer

Eleanor: Most Sexy! It’s all about the socks and the plunging neckline. The dress is begging for a naughty schoolgirl look, and this is it.
Lisa: An apron? This rules. And somehow totally works. Most modern!
Sophie: Most fun!
Delanee: Most Inventive! I liked how she was the only one who used the dress in a different way, by pinning it in the back.
Chris: Most Current Use of Vintage & Most Chic. I love the modernity of these looks. Congratulations on translating vintage proportions and elements into a modern wardrobe. The head wrap paired with the skirt in vintage scarf print is quite beautiful, and really succeeds in showing a terrific understanding of how to re-fashion/re-purpose vintage pieces into a new framework. In the other looks, the shoes completely work, as do the funny socks and shirt unbuttoned to expose a bright colored bra. Love!
MOST ECLECTIC!
Roberta Correia of It’s Only Fahsion

Eleanor: Most Eclectic. Preppy to hippy; both looks are so different. She literally looks like a different person in each. Chameleon.
Lisa: Like Mick Jagger said (well almost): “its only fashion, but I like it” And I really like it when it comes to Roberta. Particularly that striped shirt and those Spice Girls-esque high heeled sneakers. Nice! Most fun.
Sophie: Most current use of vintage! Most creative layering, I love the simplicity of this look and the use of jewelry to highlight the dress. Great smile too!
Delanee: She looked very 1960′s to me, but then she mixed in those modern shoes and accessories. So youthful!
Chris: Most original – my favorite! I love all of the disparate elements that she brought together to complete the looks … Sporty elements, refined elements, various textures and a good tension of matte & shine. I love the play of stripe, specific use of color, and a very good sense of proportion! I particularly like the use of the vintage slips with the lace detail and using the dress in a different way, as a vest and more of an accessory.
MOST AWESOME USE OF VINTAGE ACCESORIES!
Emma Grady of TreeHugger

Eleanor: Most Fun. She’s Annie Hall on safari. Amazing hat and glasses.
Lisa: Love Emma’s use of the LBD over khaki shorts. Most awesome use of vintage accessories!
Sophie: Most eclectic.
Delanee: Very Modern. I like her mixing of lingerie with the other pieces in both outfits.
Chris: Most Creative. I am obsessed with the chino look … I think it demonstrates the perfect way in which the LBD can become an integral layering piece to a girl’s wardrobe! The hat is genius and the perfect proportion for the shorts and jacket, I love the belt over the LBD but under the jacket, the purse, the penny loafer, it’s really quite wonderful overall. The other looks from Emma G pale in comparison, so I’ll rest my case at the chino short suit!
MOST MODERN!
Leah Chernikoff of Fashionista

Eleanor: Most Modern. Simple, perfect. Again, I believe she owns this dress, and she looks adorable in it.
Lisa: I’m way into Leah’s use of color, and the easy vibe of her outfits. Most fun!
Sophie: Most fantastic!
Delanee: Most Modern. She really chose things that flatter a petite person’s figure. She owns her shape and style.
Chris: Most Real. I really adore the ease of both of these looks. With a simple coordinating hat & belt, the LBD feels fresh and different in each. I vote this Most Real, because I think they demonstrate a way that the dress can be work by the ‘cool girl’ in real life.
MOST FANTASTICAL!
Pamela Castillo of Market Publique

Eleanor: Most Fantastical. She looks ready for a picnic in a magical forest where the trees say “I love that lace cape!”
Lisa: Pamela has great taste in glasses. I’m gonna go get myself some cats eye sunnies after seeing this! Most elegant! The second look is my favorite- totally unexpected, but really wearable in real life. I would totally wear that. Most sophisticated!
Sophie: Most modern- best use of accessories and mixed jewelry.
Delanee: Most Tropical! She looks like a chic vacationer!
Chris: Most Eclectic. I feel like, if you’re going to go for it with vintage jewelry, then really go for it as Pamela does here. Why not throw on 25 bracelets if you were going to wear 10 anyway? The same with rings & necklaces. I think the trick here is to keep everything else simple. A colorful belt could have thrown off the whole look, but since it’s simple double-wrap black leather, it really highlights the sunglasses and jewelry nicely.
MOST OUTRAGEOUS!
Tiffany Gong of SixSixSick

Eleanor: Most Outrageous. Anyone who can pull off a pink skirt, red bag, cowboy belt and black turban gets “most outrageous” in my book. She actually pulls it off!
Lisa: Loving Tiffany’s use of bright colors and a turban. Most outrageous!
Sophie: Most outrageous- best use of color!
Delanee: Most Eclectic. I think she’s very theatrical (in a good way). The second look reminds me of a modern day Mary Poppins.
Chris: Most Outrageous. Everything that’s going on here is wild & crazy … It’s a very specific aesthetic and is outrageous indeed. I like very much that despite the strange proportions and layering that the colors are restrained to a simple red necklace or one bright pink shirt.
Great job everyone. Thanks for being so amazingly stylish, and coming out to play dress up with us!!!
