Eliza Starbuck, Day 8
Day at the Park
Today I met up with the the BYT street team at the Brooklyn Botanical Gardens to catch a little greenary and sunshine.
One again, it was a hot, sticky day in New York, and I had to come up with a way to wear my dress that would allow for maximum air flow. I pulled a favorite jersey dress of mine, by H Fredriksson, and thought I would maximize the benefits of it’s backlessness by turning my little black dress into a skirt.
In order to make the dress into a skirt, I buttoned it up to my waist, belted it (with a thrift store belt) and folded the top down over the belt. I then tucked the back neck line into the center back of my belt so that it would hide the tag and drape nicely.
Indian hand painted silk scarf on my head was a gift from my friend Lisa Marie. And I’m once again wearing Arogonite, the stone of responsibility around my neck. Here I’m enjoying the way the grass feels between my toes, but I wore my Dr. Scholls sandals, shown in the photos above, the rest of the day.
