Kathleen Scully, Day 8

A Sailor and I…

Pretending to be in the parade…

a lost shell can be so handy sometimes…

in transit…

reflecting all the light!

In general, I’m not a huge parade goer, however once a year at Coney Island, I do enjoy the festivities of the annual Mermaid Day parade. This year the King and Queen were the fabulous Lou Reed and Laurie Anderson.

I had assistance with my accessories today from friend and classmate, Lara Knutson who dressed me in her stunning reflective jewelry, inspired by bioluminescence and iridescence found in sea creatures. It’s available at Moma and Future Perfect.

Do you recognize my skirt?  I wore it on day 2 as a scarf, here wrapped twice and pined with the army-navy pins from day 6. This is true maximization of wardrobe!

My shoes are designed by Vivian Westwood for Melissa, the 30% recycled PVD shoes, that, yes, for the height are amazingly comfortable. A find from Alter in Greenpoint.

P.S. between Lara, Miriam and I we took close to 500 photos, I think more photos of today will be popping up on Lara’s Blog soon…
